Youth voices at
the United Nations.
The paintings and canvas bags created with Transcarpathian youth during our Peace Day visit were exhibited at the United Nations — bringing the voices of war-affected children to the world stage.
The Exhibition
From a classroom
to the world stage.
Just weeks after the Peace Day visit to Transcarpathia, the artworks created by Ukrainian youth traveled thousands of kilometers to the headquarters of the United Nations in New York.
The hand-painted canvas bags and canvases — decorated with doves, sunflowers, broken hearts, and the words “Háború” (war) and “Béke” (peace) in Hungarian — told a story that needed no translation.
The exhibition showed the international community the deep impact of war on young people’s lives, and their enduring hope for peace.

The Artworks
Painted by children,
seen by the world.
Each canvas bag and painting carried symbols of both the pain and hope of young Ukrainians — broken hearts alongside doves, missiles next to sunflowers. The contrast spoke louder than any speech.

Panel Discussion
Young voices,
global platform.
Alongside the exhibition, youth representatives participated in a panel discussion at the UN, sharing their experiences and advocating for the needs of children affected by conflict.
The panel brought together young delegates from multiple countries, creating a space where the impact of war could be discussed not just through statistics, but through personal stories and the art that emerged from them.
